About the Kitchen:
The beach blue wall color extends into the kitchen, where cottage style maple cabinetry and oversized pendant lights carve out vintage style, belying the room's high-tech features, including refrigerator and freezer columns and an induction cooktop with both speed heating and full-touchscreen interface features. "It's the kitchen I would like to have it's very forthright, it looks great and I absolutely adore the island," says interior designer Linda Woodrum.

2013 HGTV Smart Home : Living Room Pictures
About the Living Room:
"I didn't want to just go turquoise blue, turquoise blue, turquoise blue," says interior designer Linda Woodrum, who veered from the beachy blue color palette when designing the home's largest gathering and party space. A happy collection of solid colors and modern and Moroccan prints celebrates vintage Florida style, while high-tech features make a singularly modern statement.

About the Master Bathroom:
An effective layering of materials and patterns spells success in the spa style bathroom, where honed travertine and glass tile blend seamlessly. The "tone-on-tone, clean" look, says interior designer Linda Woodrum, complements the room's high-tech features, including a toilet/bidet and programmable shower and tub features.

About the Kids' Bathroom:
Continuing the bold color palette established in the kids' bedroom, the adjoining bathroom bursts with hues of aqua, lime and sand. An American Red Cross Volunteer Life Saving Corps uniform, protected behind glass, carves out a unique focal point.

About the Guest Bedroom:
Interior designer Linda Woodrum had a pretty firm handle on the guest bedroom:
The palette would follow that of the landing and showcase hues of lime green and brown. Then something changed. "I saw that hot pinky coral fabric," she says. "I thought, 'This is the most amazing color.'" Unable to pass up the oversized print, she instead transformed the fabric into lined drapery and built the space around them, with decorative pillows, furnishings and artwork complementing the "stylized tropical" theme.

About the Guest Bathroom:
Taking its cue from the guest bedroom design, the adjoining bathroom offers a palette of sand, cream and coral. Mocha glass wall tile is paired with neutral ceramic floor tile in a space that makes subtle reference to beach location and offers luxury spa-style features.
Laundry Room Pictures : HGTV Smart Home 2013
About the Laundry Room:
The home's secondary entrance opens into a laundry and storage space, where towels, swimsuits and soiled clothing can be stripped and beach gear stowed before one advances into the home's formal spaces. Both hard working and stylish, the room hints at the home's overall color palette and design aesthetic. "I just wanted it to be happy and pretty," says interior designer Linda Woodrum, cognizant of the view into the laundry room from adjoining spaces. "The laundry room is going to be the primary entrance for whoever lives at HGTV Smart Home and it's important that you see something attractive when you first walk in."
