About the Guest Bedroom:
Interior designer Linda Woodrum had a pretty firm handle on the guest bedroom:
The palette would follow that of the landing and showcase hues of lime green and brown. Then something changed. "I saw that hot pinky coral fabric," she says. "I thought, 'This is the most amazing color.'" Unable to pass up the oversized print, she instead transformed the fabric into lined drapery and built the space around them, with decorative pillows, furnishings and artwork complementing the "stylized tropical" theme.
Bright coral drapery fabric inspired the room's color palette. A focus on bold, graphic geometric patterns and prints keeps the room from being too precious.
A collection of custom made and designer chic pillows tops the queen sized bed, dressed in layers of cozy, breathable linen and cotton. A handcrafted starburst style mirror provides a focal point above the upholstered headboard.
An interactive touchscreen on a smart tablet allows the user to control home automation features, monitor security cameras, and even check local weather, news and traffic.
A chevron print accent chair nestled near the bedside provides a spot to relax, read or gaze out onto the side yard.
Nestled in a wooded setting, HGTV Smart Home offers picturesque views of Southern pine and native palms, ferns and magnolia from guest bedroom windows.
Furnished with a sleeper sofa that accommodates additional overnight guests, the loft area serves as an anteroom to the guest bedroom.
A 32 inch LED flat screen TV nests atop a travertine topped bar turned bureau that opens to reveal tray drawers, shelves and wine bottle storage that could hold media accessories.
Family photos find a home atop a classic bombe chest, whitewashed and cedar lined to keep linens fresh.
A walnut table, clad in capiz shell, is topped with a bouquet of rosé tipped amaryllis. A trio of mercury bubble vases holds patchouli ginger candles that lend boutique-hotel style.
